Can, Bapi come too?

December 15, 2005 - Back to Main Blog

My younger daughters are bursting at the seams!  It's holiday time and "Mom, Dad look at me!" are in no short supply.  An aire of nostalgia comes over us as we put up the tree, play Christmas music at breakfast, and watch a different Christmas movie every night.  Life is good!  And, I notice the excitement is different this year.  It's filled with more.  It's filled with more warmth.  I can see the smile behind their eyes.  I'm working out of the home full-time now, which I haven't done for years, yet somehow I'm more available.  And they sense it.

For the past three years, I've been a single mom and during that time we've missed at least two Winter Programs.  I never made any promises.  They practiced...we missed.  No mention, no worries.  This year, with no mention in unspoken agreeance, it was understood...we're going to Winter Programs!  We were physically, mentally, and emotionally available to what's important to the whole.  More importantly, after they spent the year available to what was important to me, I became increasingly aware and available to what's important to them.  That awareness has manifest itself into a more whole holiday experience for the Wisniewskis.  (Now, if we could only figure out how to smuggle in the dog :-) .  Happy Winter Programs and...

peacefully yours,
talisa
